Description
Django is popular and cool. kcarnold has expressed interest in helping make a Django installer, perhaps akin to nelhage's Jifty installer. Since Django does not have external dependencies outside stock Python, this should be easy.

1.0 is being released in September. There are also a couple of changes necessary to make it run well in the scripts environment, such as an autoinstaller that configures SQL databases and URLs.
Notify [help.mit.edu #688459] and others when an autoinstaller is created.

Guess what? We have a Django autoinstaller now. Occasionally, it even runs without breaking.
The scripts servers have had Django 0.96.1 installed as an RPM for a while (your r377, in fact). Is anything else necessary?
